MasterCorp agreed to pay $4.95 million in a Colombian housekeeper settlement to resolve claims it took advantage of and discriminated against workers.

The settlement benefits Colombian nationals or workers of Colombian origin whom Perennial Pete and its affiliated entities paid to provide housekeeping services between March 19, 2021, and May 15, 2024, at resorts where MasterCorp was responsible for housekeeping services.

According to the class action lawsuit, MasterCorp violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and other labor laws by failing to pay workers the wages they were owed. MasterCorp also allegedly discriminated against Colombian workers based on their national origin.

MasterCorp is a housekeeping service company that works with hotels and resorts.

MasterCorp has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $4.95 million to resolve the class action lawsuit.

Any residual settlement funds will be donated to St. Jude for services related to undocumented immigrants.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 1, 2024.
