$2.5M FitOn video privacy class action settlement

FitOn agreed to a $2.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated federal privacy laws by sharing user information with third parties without their consent.

The FitOn settlement benefits individuals who held accounts with a FitOn video platform and accessed at least one video between Oct. 22, 2022, and May 29, 2026.

According to a class action lawsuit, FitOn violated Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by sharing user information with third parties, including information about what videos users watched on the platform. The VPPA prohibits video providers from sharing information about what videos users watch without first obtaining consent from the user.

FitOn is a fitness app that allows users to stream workouts from their mobile devices.

FitOn has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.5 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.

Under the terms of the FitOn settlement, eligible class members who submit valid claims may receive a $10 cash payment. If approved claims exceed the available settlement benefits, payments will be reduced on a pro rata basis.

Class members may elect to receive their payment through PayPal or Venmo when submitting their claim. Otherwise, payments will be mailed by check.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 31, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the video privacy class action settlement is scheduled for Oct. 6, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 31, 2026.

Who’s Eligible

Individuals who had a FitOn account and accessed at least one video on the FitOn video platform between Oct. 22, 2022, and May 29, 2026.
