G.Skill has agreed to a $2.4 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it deceptively advertised the speed of its DDR-4 and DDR-5 memory products.
The G.Skill settlement benefits individuals who purchased one or more G.Skill DDR-4 and DDR-5 DRAM (non-laptop) memory products with rated speeds over 2133 MHz or 4800 MHz, respectively, between Jan. 31, 2018, and Jan. 7, 2026.
G.Skill is a computer hardware company that sells memory products. According to G.Skill’s website, the company is a “world-leading enthusiast memory manufacturer” that offers “the highest quality memory modules.”
According to a class action lawsuit, G.Skill deceptively advertised the speed of its DDR-4 and DDR-5 memory products. Plaintiffs in the case say that G.Skill advertised speeds of over 2133 MHz for DDR-4 and over 4800 MHz for DDR-5 products but did not disclose that these speeds required adjustments to the consumers’ PCs.
G.Skill has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.4 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the G.Skill settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of products they purchased. Class members who purchased more than five products will need to provide proof of purchase in order to receive a payment.
Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. Class members who do not have proof of purchase can claim up to five products. Payments will be made on a per-product basis, with a maximum of five qualifying purchases paid per household.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is April 7, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 5, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 7, 2026.
