$1M Jefferson Dental TCPA class action settlement

A $1 million Jefferson Dental settlement resolves claims that the dental company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unwanted texts to consumers who opted out.

The settlement benefits individuals who received text messages from Jefferson Dental after making a stop request and having placed their number on the National Do Not Call Registry between May 17, 2019, and May 17, 2023.

The telemarketing class action lawsuit claims Jefferson Dental violated the TCPA by bombarding consumers with unwanted text messages. Jefferson Dental allegedly sent these texts despite consumers requesting for them to stop and registering their numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Jefferson Dental & Orthodontics is a network of dental centers with more than 60 locations in Texas.

Jefferson Dental hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay more than $1 million to resolve the TCPA class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Jefferson Dental settlement, class members will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of valid claims submitted, but each claimant is estimated to receive around $57.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Dec. 9, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement has not been scheduled. The court may grant final approval to this settlement without a scheduled hearing.

To receive Jefferson Dental settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 9, 2024.
