State Farm agreed to a $15.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it undervalued vehicles in total loss claims.

The State Farm settlement benefits Arkansas residents who made a first-party claim on a State Farm policy between Nov. 29, 2016, and Oct. 18, 2021, and whose vehicles were determined to be total losses and whose claim payments were based on an Audatex report that included a typical negotiation adjustment.

According to the class action lawsuit, State Farm undervalued vehicles in loss claims by applying “typical negotiation adjustments” to valuation reports. These adjustments allegedly caused Arkansas policyholders to receive less than the actual cash value of their vehicles.

State Farm is an insurance company that offers auto, home, life and other types of insurance to consumers.

State Farm has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $15.5 million settlement to resolve the insurance class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the State Farm settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the total amount they were underpaid on total loss claims. According to the settlement website, payments will be 68% of the total negotiation adjustment amount. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the class action settlement, but the average payment is estimated to be $489.

The deadline for objection is June 15, 2026, and the deadline for exclusion is June 25, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for July 15, 2026.

To receive class action settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 19, 2026.
