Allina Health System agreed to a $12.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims that it violated consumer privacy rights by using pixel tracking on its website.

The Allina Health settlement benefits individuals who were portal users, non-portal bill pay users and non-portal scheduling users between Sept. 16, 2018, and May 11, 2026. It also benefits those who were non-portal, non-bill pay and non-scheduling patients during the same period.

According to the class action lawsuit, Allina Health System allegedly violated consumer privacy rights by using pixel tracking on its website, which may have shared sensitive personal and health-related information with third parties.

Allina Health is a health care system operating hospitals and clinics throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Allina Health System has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $12.5 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.

Under the terms of the Allina Health settlement, class members can receive a cash payment.

Class members will be able to receive a proportional share of the net settlement fund based on the number of claims filed. Exact payments will vary, but class members may receive a higher payment if a smaller number of claims is filed.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 10, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Allina Health settlement is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 8, 2026.
