Nutricost agreed to a $1.83 million class action settlement to resolve claims that its magnesium glycinate supplements were deceptively labeled.
The Nutricost settlement benefits consumers who purchased Nutricost magnesium glycinate supplements with 420 mg of magnesium per serving in 240-capsule and 120-capsule variants between Feb. 1, 2021, and June 8, 2026.
Nutricost magnesium glycinate supplements are marketed as containing 420 mg of magnesium per serving of two capsules. However, the class action lawsuit alleged the stated amount of magnesium glycinate could not be held in two capsules alone.
Nutricost is a dietary supplement company that sells a variety of products, including magnesium glycinate.
Nutricost has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.83 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the Nutricost settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the number of supplements purchased and the net settlement fund after deductions.
Each supplement purchased will count as one “award unit.” Class members who submit a valid claim form with a valid claim ID and PIN will receive one award unit per supplement purchased. Class members who submit a valid claim form without a valid claim ID and PIN will receive one award unit in total.
The award units will be determined by dividing the net settlement fund by the total number of supplements identified by valid claims. Payments will not exceed $19.95 per award unit.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 7, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the Nutricost magnesium glycinate settlement is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 7, 2026.
