CenturyLink has agreed to a $844,655 class action lawsuit settlement to end claims from the Minnesota attorney general that the company misrepresented the price of its internet and television services.Â
A class of 12,094 has been established; it is made up of those Minnesota CenturyLink consumers who were allegedly charged more than CenturyLink promised to charge them.Â
CenturyLink offers high-speed internet, fiber, voice, phone and TV services for homes and small businesses in 36 states, according to the company’s website.
According to the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, CenturyLink falsely represented the price of its services by advertising one price, but charging a higher price to consumers who purchased the products.Â
CenturyLink has not admitted any wrongdoing related to the Office of the Attorney General’s claims, but has agreed to settle the claims in order to avoid the continued costs and risks of litigation.
Under the terms of the class action settlement, CenturyLink has changed the way it does business in Minnesota and has agreed to pay money to compensate consumers who were overcharged.
Class members will be eligible to receive a flat-rate payment of $480, or they can choose to submit their CenturyLink bills showing the amount they were overbilled, if that amount exceeds $480.
In addition to agreeing to provide benefits to consumers who were allegedly overcharged, as part of the CenturyLink class action settlement, the internet provider has agreed to change the way it does business in Minnesota. The company has agreed to now honestly disclose its prices to consumers.Â
No opt-out, objection or final hearing dates are listed on the settlement website.
The deadline to file a claim in the Minnesota CenturyLink billing practices lawsuit settlement is Oct. 3, 2022.

Questioning when distribution of funds will occur status-post filing of Centurylink overcharge complaint that was filed prior to October 3,2022. Have heard nothing since advisement that claim was filed.
How long do we have to wait I put all my things together and have not heard nothing yet about the refund
