low-testosteroneA testosterone product lawsuit was consolidated into a testosterone MDL after plaintiff Dwight A. suffered dangerous side effects after taking AndroGel, a low testosterone treatment. Dwight is one of many men to have allegedly experienced testosterone side effects such as heart attack after using low testosterone (Low-T) products like gels, creams, injections, and more.

Dwight is an Ohio resident who began to take low testosterone treatment in November 2008. On July 12, 2013, he suffered a heart attack. He later filed a testosterone product lawsuit against the manufacturers of AndroGel.

Dwight is one of thousands of men who have been prescribed low-t products such as:

  • AndroGel
  • Androderm
  • Axiron
  • Bio-T-Gel
  • Delatestryl
  • Depo-Testosterone
  • Fortesta
  • Striant
  • Testim
  • Testopel
  • Others

Low-t products are intended to treat men who have extremely low levels of testosterone. They can be given in the form of a gel/cream, a patch, an injection or implant, and as a mouth patch. However, many men have been prescribed low testosterone treatment who suffered symptoms such as hair loss, mood changes, and other symptoms also common with side effects of old age. It has been suggested that low-t treatment is only effective for those who have extremely low testosterone levels. Therefore, thousands of men may be putting themselves at risk of suffering from heart attack or other potentially deadly side effects.

A testosterone product lawsuit may be filed against drug manufacturers who failed to warn against potentially deadly side effects or have marketed low-t treatments to men who do not actually require testosterone treatment. A wrongful death lawsuit may be filed if a patient died from a testosterone-caused heart attack. Compensation from a testosterone product lawsuit can help pay for any medical treatment and pain and suffering caused by testosterone.

This testosterone product lawsuit included counts of design defect, failure to warn, negligence, negligent misrepresentation, breach of implied warranty of merchantability, breach of express warranty, fraud, redhibition, consumer protection, unjust enrichment, and punitive damages. The testosterone product lawsuit, filed against AbbVie Inc. and Abbott Laboratories, was brought before the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly.

This Testosterone Product Lawsuit is Case No. 1:15-cv-06128, part of MDL No. 2545 (In Re: Testosterone Replacement Therapy Products Liability Litigation) filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
