Some Lawn Mower Owners Entitled to $75 Class Action Settlement
By Sarah Pierce
A proposed settlement fund of $65 million has been established by 10 lawn mower companies accused of misrepresenting and overstating their horsepower ratings on certain gasoline-powered lawn mowers and lawn mower engines. The companies include Honda, Kohler, Kawasaki, Sears, Deere, Tecumseh, Platinum, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Electrolux and Husqvarna.
If you purchased a gas-powered lawnmower from these companies between January 1994 and April 2010, you may be eligible to receive up to $35.00 for each walk-behind lawn mower you purchased and up tot $75 for each riding lawn mower you purchased. Some companies named in the class action lawsuit have also agreed to provide a one-year extended warranty to class members.
Class members have until August 31, 2010 to submit a claim form for cash benefits, and up to one year after the court approves the settlement and all appeals are over to submit a claim for an extended warranty. Keep in mind, however, that the extended warranty expires one year after the final approval.

Has this been settled? It is now 2024 and never seen or heard anything about the settlement.
I sent the form in before the deadline and as of today, 9-22-15 haven’t heard from anyone concerning this settlement.
