Praxair is a company operating in 50 countries with 26,000 employees around the world. It specializes in transporting industrial chemicals and gasses for businesses. This means many of the products are hazardous and potentially dangerous to their employees, so drivers are often required to remain with their vehicles at all times.

According to the company’s website, Praxair driver jobs and other employment opportunities will come together to ensure good performance for their customers.

However, this does not make the company exempt from federal labor laws, and Praxair is expected to follow additional employment law requirements when operating in the state of California. Rest periods in California are required, along with these other conditions that must be provided to non exempt employees:

  • 30 minute meal break for every five hours worked
  • 10 minute rest break for every four hours worked
  • Rest break for every three and half hours worked and second rest break for every six hours worked
  • Employees are allowed to have a meal break off the work premises
  • Employees must be compensated one hour of pay for every missed meal break

The company states that Praxair driver jobs and other employment opportunities will give individuals the opportunity to earn stable wages, and offers workers strong health, wellness, and retirement packages, and time off. Praxair also stated it is committed to the safety and well being of their employees, stating that work environmental safety is key.

Employees allege, however, that the company does not compensate them for any missed meal breaks or rest periods, which may be in direct violation of California labor laws.
