hip replacementA plaintiff, Larry W., files a products liability lawsuit against DePuy Orthopedics, Inc., alleging he suffered from severe adverse effects and complications from the manufacturers ASR hip implant product.

According to the DePuy ASR hip implant defects lawsuit, Larry was allegedly implanted with the DePuy ASR hip implant product in January 2009 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

Larry claims that he later had to have the DePuy ASR hip implant explanted in February 2017. He had the implant removed at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tenn.

He states that he “could not have known that the injuries he suffered were as a result of a defect in the ASR hip implant until after the date the device was recalled from the market and [he] came to learn of the recall.”

Purportedly, he had not known that he suffered injuries from increased amounts of chromium and cobalt within her bloodstream (metallosis) until he had blood drawn and was advised of the blood-work composite.

The claims and allegations filed by the plaintiff against the defendant include, but are not limited to, the following: Negligence, Strict Products Liability- Defective Design, Strict Products Liability- Manufacturing Defect, Strict Products Liability-Failure to Warn, Breach of Express Warranty, and Breach of Implied Warranties.
