Keurig Dr Pepper has announced a recall of more than 80,000 McCafé Premium Roast Decaf Coffee K-Cup pods after discovering that the products may contain regular caffeinated coffee. The affected products were distributed in California, Indiana and Nevada.
The affected products are packaged in 84-count cartons, each weighing 29 ounces (823 grams), and are identified by UPC 043000073438, best-by date of Nov. 17, 2026, batch number 5101564894 and material number 5000358463.
The recall, initiated by Keurig Dr Pepper on Dec. 6, 2025, and was later classified as a Class II recall by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Jan. 23, 2026.
The recall notice emphasizes that while the product does not pose a significant health risk for most people, it could cause adverse effects for those sensitive to caffeine or advised to avoid it.
According to the FDA, the recall stems from a labeling error, not because the coffee is unsafe to consume.
Consumers advised to return products for a full refund or replacement
Keurig Dr Pepper has taken steps to notify consumers who purchased the affected products, encouraging them to contact Keurig Consumer Care, or the place of purchase, for a refund or replacement.
The recall notice highlights that the McCafé Premium Roast Decaf Coffee K-Cup pods were distributed through a single retailer in the states of California, Indiana and Nevada.
Keurig Dr Pepper is actively working to resolve the issue by offering replacements to affected consumers. The company has ensured that all impacted products remaining with the retailer have been returned.
