HONEYJOY recall overview:
- Who: HONEYJOY is recalling approximately 2,750 convertible and foldable high chairs.
- Why: The high chairs pose a suffocation risk due to an incline angle greater than 10 degrees, violating federal regulations.
- Where: The recall is effective in the United States.
HONEYJOY has issued a recall for over 2,700 high chairs sold exclusively on Amazon.com due to a potential suffocation hazard. The recall affects various models of convertible and foldable high chairs that do not comply with federal safety standards for infant sleep products.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on April 3, 2025. It includes several models of HONEYJOY high chairs, such as the 3-in-1 Infant Swing, High Chair and Booster Seat, and the 5-in-1 Convertible High Chair.
These products, made of metal and plastic with cloth seats, were sold in multiple colors, including gray, pink, and beige. The issue arises from the chairs being marketed for infant sleep with an incline angle exceeding 10 degrees, which contravenes the CPSC’s Infant Sleep Products Rule and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act.
“The recalled high chairs pose a suffocation risk because they were marketed for infant sleep and have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees,” the recall notice states.
Consumers urged to immediately stop using HONEYJOY recalled high chairs
The recall notice states, “consumers should immediately stop using the recalled high chairs and contact HONEYJOY to register for a full refund.”
The company has provided detailed instructions for obtaining a refund, which includes writing “RECALLED” on the seatback and sending a photograph to the company’s email address.
Additionally, HONEYJOY is coordinating with Amazon to ensure all customers are informed about the recall and the necessary steps to take.
HONEYJOY states that no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled high chairs. While the company is not currently facing any legal action, recalls like this are closely monitored as they can sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
HONEYJOY can be reached by e-mail at [email protected] or via their Amazon recall page.
