Good & Gather burrito bowl recall overview:

  • Who: One Frozen LLC is recalling 57,240 units of Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend.
  • Why: The recall is due to the presence of undeclared shrimp, a shellfish allergen.
  • Where: The recall is effective across the United States.

One Frozen has issued a recall for its Good & Gather Southwest-Style Burrito Bowl Blend due to the potential presence of undeclared shrimp.

The recall, announced on Sept. 10, affects 57,240 units distributed nationwide through Target stores, posing a risk to people with shellfish allergies. It involves specific lot codes L5055-1 through L5055-6 of 12-ounce burrito bowls with UPC 085239931356 and a “Best if Used by” date of Aug. 24, 2026.

The issue arose after three consumer complaints suggested the presence of shrimp, which was not listed on the product’s ingredient label.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to shellfish run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the recall notice states.

Consumers advised to check freezers for affected products

Consumers are advised to check their freezers for the affected product and refrain from consuming it. The recall notice emphasizes the importance of this action to prevent potential allergic reactions.

Consumers should immediately discontinue the use of the affected burrito bowls and return them to Target for a full refund. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

One Frozen is actively working to address the issue by recalling the affected products and ensuring that consumers are informed about the potential allergen risk. The company has provided contact information for both consumers and media inquiries, with Target Guest Relations available at (800) 440-0680 for customer assistance.

One Frozen states it has not received any reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Earlier this year, Target faced class action lawsuits alleging it falsely advertised its Good & Gather pasta sauces as containing “no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives,” even though they contain citric acid, which plaintiffs say is an artificial preservative.
