GoDaddy dedicated servers class action lawsuitA class action lawsuit filed three years ago against GoDaddy.com has been transferred from Arkansas to Arizona, where the Courts may be more favorable to Go Daddy. The class action suit, originally filed in 2007, claims Go Daddy places pay-per-click advertisements on registered domain names without consent from the domain owners. As a result, Go Daddy is “unlawfully generating and retaining revenue from these online advertisements” each time an Internet user clicks on these ads. According to the class action suit, Go Daddy is generating “massive amounts of revenue and reaping benefits” by “trespassing” on class members’ property and using it for Go Daddy’s own financial benefit. Go Daddy, the suit says, keeps 100% of the revenue from these unauthorized pay-per-click ads.The class action lawsuit is seeking an unspecified amount of damages in addition to barring Go Daddy from placing ads on domain names without consent and requiring Go Daddy to share pay-per-click revenue with domain owners.
