A class action lawsuit accusing AmeriGas of under-filling customers’ propane gas cylinders is set to receive final settlement approval. If you purchased or exchanged a pre-filled AmeriGas propane gas cylinder between June 15, 2005 and November 30, 2009, you could receive between $5 and $75 if the class action settlement is approved.
AmeriGas allegedly sold “full” propane cylinders to customers but failed to disclose that the cylinders were not full and that the actual amount of the propane in each cylinder was reduced by two pounds or more.
Class members who submit valid proofs of purchase and claim forms by October 31, 2010 can receive $5 for each proof of purchase they submit, up to 15 transactions ($75).
Class members who don’t have receipts or other proofs of purchase can get a one-time payment of $5 if they file a claim by the deadline.
Class members who wish to exclude themselves from the class action settlement have until September 1, 2010 to do so. For more information, visit http://propanesettlement.com.
