Costco recalls overview:ย 

  • Who: Costco members were notified last month of a pair of recalls involving certain Kodiak-brand waffles and Rock River Cattle Co. skirt steaks.ย 
  • Why: The Kodiak waffles were recalled over worries they may have been contaminated with soft plastic film. The Rock River Cattle Co. skirt steaks were recalled over concerns their label failed to state its allergen ingredients.
  • Where: The products affected by the Costco recalls were sold at Costco warehousesย  nationwide.

Costco members were notified last month of a pair of recalls involving waffles and skirt steak products sold at Costco warehouses.ย 

The recalls involve certain Kodiak Power Waffles Buttermilk & Vanilla 40 count and Rock River Cattle Co. Smokey Hibachi Skirt Steaks.ย 

The Kodiak waffles were recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with soft plastic film. The recalled waffles contain a use by date of Jan. 1, 2026, a lot code of 24193-WL4 and a time stamp of 12:00-23:00, according to the recall.ย 

The Rock River Cattle Co. skirt steaks were recalled over concerns the product labeling failed to state its allergen ingredients, including soy, wheat and sesame, according to the recall.ย 

Costco members with a soy, wheat or sesame allergy are advised not to consume the recalled Rock River Cattle Co. skirt steak product and to return any of the unused items to Costco to receive a full refund.ย 

Costco members who purchased the recalled Kodiak waffles were also advised by the company to return the product to their local Costco, in order to receive a full refund.ย 

No reports of adverse health reactions linked to Costco recalls

Kodiak Cakes LLC informed Costco members that no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the waffles recall, however the company said it decided to initiate the recall โ€œout of an abundance of caution.โ€ย 

Skylark Meats LLC, the maker of the recalled Rock River Cattle Co. skirt steaks, similarly informed Costco members that there have so far been no reports of adverse health reactions due to the consumption of its recalled product.ย 

โ€œNo other Rock River Cattle Co. products or flavors are affected by this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused,โ€ the company said in a letter to Costco members.ย
