Many Breast Cancer Patients Claim Hair Loss from Chemo Is PermanentThe discovery that hair loss from chemo is permanent can be overwhelming for a patient who has already undergone multiple treatments for breast cancer.

Although hair loss from chemo is typically expected by patients undergoing chemotherapy, as this is a regular side effect of this treatment option, permanent hair loss is alleged in a lawsuit against the manufacturers of Taxotere.

Plaintiff Elaine H. is the most recent patient to claim that her hair loss from chemo was permanent after using the treatment known as Taxotere. The plaintiff alleges that the manufacturer, Sanofi-Aventis, is responsible for injuries sustained by the patient including alopecia, or permanent hair loss.

Many patients are informed that hair loss from chemo might occur and are willing to forego this side effect due to treating their cancer. However, many of the women who have filed these lawsuits say that they were never told that hair loss after using Taxotere would be permanent.

The most recent plaintiff in the hair loss from chemo MDL says that she received Taxotere treatment from September 2015 through January 2016 in Mississippi. Her lawsuit alleges that the company is responsible for multiple counts, including failure to warn, negligence, negligent misrepresentation, fraudulent misrepresentation, fraud and deceit and fraudulent concealment.

Hair loss from chemo can have devastating emotional impacts on a patient who has already gone through treating cancer. Trying to move on from this difficult chapter in their lives might be more challenging for a patient who may have unnecessarily suffered due to a manufacturer’s failure to warn about known side effects.

According to the claims from many women who used Taxotere as a breast cancer treatment, the hair loss caused by chemotherapy never reversed, meaning that plenty of these women are completely bald post-treatment and show no signs of being able to regrow their hair.

With many chemotherapy options available today, hair loss is a common side effect. That hair loss, however, is usually temporary, and once the woman completes the chemotherapy, she is usually able to grow hair again. Since there are choices available when it comes to chemo treatments, women who used Taxotere say that they should have at least been warned about the possibility of permanent hair loss from chemo so that they could choose to use the treatment with all background information.

Permanent hair loss has devastating impacts for patients who are trying to move on from a hard chapter in their lives. Women who accepted Taxotere because they wanted a treatment for cancer say that the manufacturer should have warned them about the possibility of problems in advance.

If you or someone you know has already experienced hair loss from chemo and this appears to be a permanent condition, share your concerns directly with a lawyer or consider participating in a class action lawsuit investigation.

This Hair Loss From Chemo Lawsuit is Case No. 2:18-CV-06731-JTM-MBN filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
