Babyganics is voluntarily recalling two children’s sunscreen products from its Mineral Sunscreen line due to the discovery of a potential impurity.

The company issued the Babyganics sunscreen recall on Feb. 14. It applies to specific lots of its Babyganics Totally Tropical Kids SPF 50+ Mineral Sunscreen Continuous Spray and Rollerball.

According to the recall, Babyganics discovered the unintended impurity through routine quality checks.

“The impurity is a solvent that should not be present in these products,” Babyganics said in the recall notice.

“When used as directed, there are no health, safety, or efficacy risks associated with the potential impurity.”

Anyone who owns the recalled sunscreen products will be directed how to properly dispose of the products, and will be offered a full refund, Babyganics said.

Babyganics did not report any injuries or illnesses related to use of the kids sunscreens so far. The company is not currently facing legal action, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they can sometimes result in lawsuits.

In 2022, Babyganics issued a voluntary recall for two lots of bubble bath product over concerns it was contaminated with the bacterium Pluralibacter gergoviae.
