- Who: Amazon is recalling 100,000 kitchen faucets from brands Vfauosit, Kicimpro and Basdehen.
- Why: The faucets contain lead that can seep into water, posing health risks.
- Where: The recall is active in the United States.
Amazon has issued a recall for 100,000 kitchen faucets sold under the brands Vfauosit, Kicimpro and Basdehen due to potential lead contamination.
The recall, announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), affects units sold across the United States. According to the notice, the faucets contain lead that may leak lead into water, which is particularly harmful to infants and young children.
The affected models include Vfauosit’s model 06BNV, Kicimpro’s model KM800-01-06BN and Basdehen’s model CFDTTH-000-YGH. These products were sold on Amazon between January 2024 and May 2025, priced between $30 and $40.
According to the recall notice, the faucets not only leach lead but also other contaminants, raising significant health concerns.
“Until these faucets can be replaced, consumers should only consume water from the faucets after running the water for 15 seconds,” the CPSC advises in the recall notice.
Lead exposure is particularly dangerous for infants and young children, potentially causing neurological issues, such as attention-related behavioral problems and decreased cognitive performance. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns that these effects are more pronounced in children due to their smaller body size and rapid metabolism.
Consumers urged to replace contaminated faucets immediately
The recall notice advises consumers to cease using the affected faucets immediately and to contact the sellers for a refund. To receive a refund, consumers must provide a photo of the disposed item along with the order number.
The faucets in question include Vfauosit’s model 06BNV, which features a brushed nickel finish and a high-arc, single-handle design, Kicimpro’s model KM800-01-06BN with a similar design, and Basdehen’s model CFDTTH-000-YGH with a matte black finish and 360° swivel design.
Amazon is taking steps to address the issue by contacting affected consumers and offering refunds.
For more information about the recall, consumers can visit the CPSC website or contact the sellers directly through Amazon’s platform.
Amazon says it has not received any reports of illness or injury related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In related news, consumers filed class action lawsuits against Nestlé USA, The Wonderful Company and BlueTriton Brands in 2024, alleging that these companies falsely advertised their bottled water products as pure or natural despite claims that the products contain microplastics and other contaminants.
