DNA Carriers Inc. and one of its drivers are facing a new semi truck accident lawsuit alleging that the driver negligently caused the claimants to suffer serious injuries. This semi truck accident lawsuit was filed by a couple from Canada, who suffered the collision while driving to Florida.

Plaintiff couple Monica C. and Paul C. allege they were driving safely and lawfully while on their route to Florida, and had no reason to believe they were in danger of vehicular collisions.

Overview of Semi Truck Accident Lawsuit

According to the semi truck accident lawsuit, the collision occurred on June 30, 2018 after truck driver Aziz Fayzullaev started driving alongside the claimants in the parallel lane. Monica was allegedly driving in clear and dry conditions. The accident reportedly occurred that evening while the couple was traveling on Eisenhower Memorial Parkway nearing Clearspring Road, and Fayzullaev had pulled up alongside them while driving a truck for DNA Carriers.

Not long after pulling up beside the couple, Fayzullaev reportedly swerved in the claimants’ lane and forced them down into an embankment. Fayzullaev was reportedly trying to change lanes, but had done so in a reckless manner that allegedly caused the accident.

Monica and Paul say they swerved to avoid a collision but were allegedly forced onto the right shoulder, causing them to violently collide with a tree. Maryland’s State Police was called to the scene, and found Fayzullaev to be at fault for the accident, the complaint says.

According to the police crash report, Fayzullaev stated that he did not see the claimants’ vehicle when he attempted to change lanes. According to the semi truck accident lawsuit, Paul had suffered a broken right femur and broken left forearm, while Monica had suffered four broken ribs and a cracked sternum.

Believing that Fayzullaev acted negligently, the couple opted to file this semi truck accident lawsuit against him and DNA Carriers. DNA Carriers is a transport company that employed Fayzullaev and other drivers, who are expected to make deliveries and pickups on a certain schedule. DNA Carriers owns and operates the truck involved in the collision, which means they are at least partially responsible for Fayzullaev’s negligence, argue Monica and Paul in their lawsuit.

There are approximately 500,000 semi truck accidents that occur every year in the United States, with 5,000 of these incidents being fatal and over 100,000 of them involving serious injuries.

Semi trucks are massive vehicles, creating a risk of significant harm for passengers of smaller vehicles nearby. There are a number of different factors that can contribute to a semi truck accident including:
