After contacting an experienced truck accident attorney, a consumer has filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for his semi truck accident injuries.

Plaintiff Fawaza A. recently contacted a truck accident attorney to file a semi truck accident against the truck driver who struck him, Mohamed S., and the truck driver’s employer, JJB Transport LLC.

In January 2016, Fawaza says he was lawfully pulled over on the shoulder of an interstate. During this time, he claims Mohamed was driving a semi truck as part of his employment with JJB Transport. Mohamed was allegedly driving recklessly and struck Fawaza’s car from the rear.

As a result of the semi truck accident, Fawaza allegedly sustained serious injury to his head, neck, shoulders, arms, knees, back, and chest. These injuries have allegedly interfered with his enjoyment of life and function, and caused great pain and suffering.

“[A]s a proximate result of said injuries, [Fawaza] suffered traumatic shock and injury to the nervous system, causing severe mental and emotional anguish, which interferes with his enjoyment of life and may require psychiatric treatment, and more generally became sick and disabled, and some or all of said injuries, as set forth herein, may be permanent in nature,” the semi truck accident lawsuit states.

Fawaza claims that Mohamed was speeding, failed to keep an eye on the road, failed to apply brakes inside, and generally failed to drive safely. These actions allegedly contributed to the semi truck accident where Mohamed struck Fawaza’s stationary car from behind.

“[Mohamed] did then and there display negligence and misconduct by failing to regulate his speed according to conditions, losing control of this truck, leaving the roadway and striking Plaintiff’s vehicle,” argues the semi truck accident lawsuit.

The semi truck accident lawsuit also names JJB Transport, Mohamed’s employer, as a defendant. Because Mohamed was working for JJB at the time of the accident, and was driving JJB’s semi truck, Fawaza aims to hold the company accountable. Fawaza argues that JJB was “ negligent in failing to ensure that its employees adhere to the proper regulations and/or failed to properly supervise, train, and/or control its employees.”

The complaint also claims that Mohamed is “a person incompetent and unfit to drive a motor vehicle […] by reason of inability, inexperience, and consistently negligent driving.” Fawaza argues that JJB knew or should have known about Mohamed’s alleged driving inability and is therefore accountable for entrusting Mohamed with a motor vehicle to operate.
