Touch-Tel Calling Card settlementDid you purchase a calling card sold or distributed by Lycatel before December 8, 2009? You may be eligible for a refund from a proposed class action settlement.

The class action settlement will resolve a lawsuit over whether The Lycatel Group adequately informed customers about the rates and charges for its prepaid calling cards. The settlement also includes certain calling cards that do not have the Lycatel name on them, so you may be eligible even if you didn’t know you were buying a Lycatel brand card.

The final approval hearing will be held June 16, 2010. If approved, the class action settlement will provide up to $2.25 million in Refund Personal Identification Numbers (Refund PINS) that class members can use to make free domestic and certain international phone calls. You’ll be eligible to receive one Refund PIN per eligible calling card you purchased before December 8, 2009. The amount of the Refund PINs will be one-half of the value you paid for the original calling card. The Refund PINs are expected to be activated within six months of July 16, 2010, depending on court orders. All claims must also be submitted by this yet-to-be-determined date. Class members who believe they are eligible are encouraged to call (866) 657-4002 or visit www.lycatel.com to find out when the claim submission period has begun.
