QuickTrim settlementA federal court has preliminarily approved a class action lawsuit settlement with Quick Trim LLC, the Kardashian sisters and several retailers for allegedly pushing QuickTrim Weight Loss System products with bogus claims about their ability to help users shed weight. If you purchased a qualifying QuickTrim product between August 2009 and March 2013, you may be eligible to receive a partial cash refund or coupon from the class action settlement.

The QuickTrim settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit (Anaya v. QuickTrim, LLC, et al.) accusing Quick Trim LLC, Windmill Health Products and Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian – the products’ spokeswomen – of falsely advertising the weight loss benefits of QuickTrim. Also named as defendants are retailers that sold the products, including GNC, CVS Pharmacy, Wal-Mart, Amazon.com and Drugstore.com.

All defendants deny the allegations and any wrongdoing, but have agreed to establish a class action lawsuit settlement fund to pay out consumers and resolve the litigation.

Class Members of the QuickTrim settlement include all U.S. consumers who purchased the following products for personal use during the period August 14, 2009 through March 1, 2013:

  • Quick Trim Sugar & Carb Cheater
  • Quick Trim Fast Cleanse
  • QuickTrim Extreme Burn
  • Quick Trim Burn & Cleanse
  • Quick Trim Hot Stix
  • Quick Trim Fast Shake
  • Quick Trim Satisfy
  • Quick Trim Celluslim

If you purchased one of these products directly from Quick Trim and/or you have a valid receipt, cancelled check or credit card statement verifying your purchase from a retailer, you are a Group “A” Class Member and are eligible to receive one of the following benefits:

  • Group A, Category 1: Each Settlement Class Member who purchased a QuickTrim Product directly from Quick Trim will automatically receive 50% compensation of the purchase price they paid unless they elect to receive a coupon valued at twice the purchase price of the product.
  • Group A, Category 2: Each Settlement Class Member who purchased the product(s) from a retailer and who provides copies of a valid receipt, cancelled check or credit card statement showing that they purchased the product will choose either: (a) compensation of 50% of the purchase price of products purchased or (b) a coupon which can be redeemed for a retail value equal to the full purchase price of the QuickTrim Products.

If you do not have valid proof of purchase, you are a Group “B” Class Member and are eligible to receive one of the following benefits:

  • Compensation in the amount of 25% of the purchase price of the products purchased (up to 2 products), or
  • A coupon which can be redeemed at a retail value not to exceed 35% of the purchase price of the products, up to 2 products and not to exceed the combined retail value of $42.

The ONLY way to get a cash refund or coupon is to submit a valid and timely Claim Form online at www.AnayaSupplementSettlement.com or postmarked no later than August 5, 2013.

All claims will be paid if and when the QuickTrim class action settlement is finally approved and all objections have been resolved. A Final Fairness Hearing is scheduled for August 5, 2013.

It’s always reassuring when a lawsuit is filed claiming that a product is useless, then to be given a voucher to buy more of the useless product. Why not a voucher for a comparable product that works?

It’s like getting a coupon for a free burned-out light bulb or a free empty bag of potato chips. Why???
