Readers are starting to report receiving checks from a class action settlement stemming over allegations that Mitsubishi LaserVue TVs contain a malfunctioning defect.
According to reader comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Mitsubishi settlement began receiving checks worth as much as $298 on Apr. 5, 2016.
If you filed a claim for the Mitsubishi LaserVue class action settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because you may soon be receiving your payment!
The Mitsubishi LaserVue settlement resolves allegations that the televisions contain an “optical engine” defect that results in video and color abnormalities.
Plaintiff Robert Verdie filed the class action lawsuit over claims that the TV manufacturer was liable for breach of express and implied warranties as well as violations of California consumer protection laws and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Class Members in the Mitsubishi settlement include all U.S. residents who either purchased or received as a gift a Mitsubishi LaserVue DLP Television, models L65-A90, L75-A91, L75-A94, or L75-A96 between Jan. 1, 2008 and July 13, 2015.
Mitsubishi denies all allegations but agreed to the settlement to avoid further litigation costs.
The deadline to file a reimbursement Claim Form is July 25, 2016, while the warranty service Claim Form deadline is within four years of the TV purchase date.
