Vaccine injury compensation: Who’s eligible?
Are you or a loved one experiencing shoulder pain, weakness or reduced range of motion following a flu shot or other vaccine? If so, you may be entitled to substantial compensation. Fill out the form on this page for more information.
Shoulder pain is a relatively common vaccine side effect, but if your pain lingers and worsens, you may have a condition known as SIRVA or “Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration.”
The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) is a federal program that compensates people injured by certain vaccines. Compensation can be substantial, with average payouts ranging from $30,000 to $90,000, depending on the extent of the injury.
The VICP is designed so injured individuals do not have to pay for legal representation; therefore, there is no cost to you for representation.
If you are experiencing lingering shoulder pain or any other adverse effects such as rotator cuff injury, bursitis or nerve injury following the flu shot or other vaccine, fill out this form to see if you qualify for compensation.
Do you qualify?
If you received a flu shot or other vaccine within the past three years and subsequently suffered shoulder problems, you may be entitled to compensation.
**Please note: VICP only applies to injuries caused by specific vaccines. If you or a loved one sustained a vaccine injury as a result of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, the claim may not be submitted in the VICP unless another covered vaccination was administered as well. However, a claim for the COVID-19 vaccine injury may be appropriate to submit through the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP).**
Please fill out the form on this page for more information.
Common vaccine side effects can be serious
Vaccines have also been linked to severe adverse events. These include SIRVA, seizures, neurological injuries, and potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.
What is SIRVA?
Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA) occurs when a vaccine is administered into the shoulder and causes damage. Specifically, if the vaccine damages a ligament, tendon or bursa, it can result in significant shoulder pain and a limited range of motion that lasts for months or even years. Some cases have proven to be permanent.
Patients with this type of vaccine injury will generally experience symptoms within 48 hours of receiving the vaccination.
SIRVA compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program
The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) was established in 1988 following numerous liability lawsuits that were filed against vaccine manufacturers and healthcare providers.
To mitigate claims against these companies and providers, the government enacted the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. This law created the VICP in which those injured by most vaccines must file a claim for a vaccine injury.
The program also provides for injured individuals to receive legal assistance at no cost.
Through this program, those who have experienced vaccine side effects and serious vaccine injuries can recoup much-needed financial relief. The amount of relief will vary according to the nature and severity of the injury.
