Arthrex Knee Replacement Patients Might Experience Implant FailureMany patients who are advised by their doctors to consider Arthrex knee replacement might not realize the possibility of side effects and problems that could lead to a total implant failure.

Several different knee replacement systems have all been named in recent lawsuits. The Arthrex knee replacement version has been tied to a number of complicating side effects like fractures, pain, swelling, infections, instability issues, inflammation and more.

A patient who receives the Arthrex knee replacement may assume that it is going to help him or her have better mobility throughout their day to day life. Unfortunately, many consumers have already had to file an Arthrex knee replacement lawsuit.

Far too many patients who thought their knee replacement system would help them with daily pain and also to regain balance discover that the side effects and complications with this system are severe enough to warrant complaint to the company or even lawsuits.

Medical device manufacturers, including those who develop and promote knee replacement systems, have become targets for lawsuits from patients who allege that the side effects were serious but that the makers failed to warn the medical community and patients about the possibility of those complications.

Medical devices are often featured in recall notices and in legal claims after patients have received the device and suffered from some type of side effect.

The product in question is known as the Arthrex iBalance Total Knee Arthroplasty System and many of these patients have had to go through painful revision surgery that carries its own risk of infection. Knee replacement patients have reported experiencing health complications, some of which have led to the implant being removed completely.

Total knee replacement surgery, also known as arthroplasty is designed to resurface a knee that has been significantly damaged by arthritis. Doctors may recommend a system such as the Arthrex knee replacement to help address mobility after someone has suffered a knee injury or been diagnosed with severe arthritis. The purpose of the Arthrex knee replacement system was to treat knee cartilage degeneration tied to post-traumatic arthrosis or osteoarthritis.

It has been estimated that more than one million individuals go through knee replacement surgery every single year in the United States. Defective knee implants, however, can lead to problems with muscle damage, bone damage, tibial loosening, and disassociation of the insert.

In 2016, the Arthrex knee replacement system for the iBalance TKA Tibial Tray was involved in a recall. The manufacturer sent an urgent medical device voluntary recall letter to medical facilities, surgeons, and distributors, outlining the removal.

More than 3,400 tibial trays were affected by this recall. Unfortunately, however, people who continue to suffer problems after knee replacement surgery may not realize their opportunity to file a lawsuit and recover compensation against the manufacturer. If you or someone you know has been impacted by the Arthrex knee replacement system and has suffered unfortunate side effects as a result, you may be eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit investigation.
