Whole Foods fillets recall overview: 

  • Who: Tampa Bay Fisheries is recalling one lot of 365 Whole Foods Market 32-ounce bags of Beer-Battered Pollock Fillets and 16-ounce cartons of Beer-Battered Cod Fillets. 
  • Why: The packaging for the fillets do not indicate the presence of soy, which can be dangerous to those with a soy allergy.
  • Where: The fillets recall is valid across the United States.

Tampa Bay Fisheries is recalling one lot of 365 Whole Foods Market 32-ounce bags of Beer-Battered Pollock Fillets and two lots of 16-ounce cartons of Beer-Battered Cod Fillets due to the presence of undeclared soy in the products.

The Whole Foods fillet recall impacts products available for purchase at stores from Sept. 8 to Dec. 22. Those with a soy allergy who consume the fillets could have a potentially serious or life-threatening allergic reaction, the fillet recall says.

The pollock fillets are marked with a UPC of 9948249803 and lot No. 32508201 with a Best Buy date of 03/07/2025. The cod fillets have a UPC of 9948248051 with lot Nos. 32348201 and 32628201 and Best Buy dates of 02/22/2025 and 03/19/2025.

The fillet recall products have been removed from shelves. 

No illnesses reported, full fillet recall refund available at Whole Foods

Whole Foods and Tampa Bay Fisheries say they have not received any reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Customers should not eat the fillets and instead should dispose of them and bring a valid receipt to the store for a full refund.
