House of Raeford has recalled about 76,961 pounds of Foster Farms mini chicken corn dogs as the dogs may be spoiled.

The recall was published to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) website on June 30. It applies to Foster Farms Mini Corn Dogs Bite-Sized Chicken Franks Dipped In Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor with lot codes 123114 and 223114 and best by date of 4/23/24.

According to the recall, the problem was discovered after the firm received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance and unpleasant taste.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products so far, the company said.

It is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Corn dogs shipped nationwide

The recalled chicken corn dogs were shipped to retail locations nationwide. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider, the company said.

Meanwhile, FSIS is concerned that some products may still be in consumers’ freezers.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase,” the FSIS said.

The recalled chicken corn dogs were all produced on April 24, 2023. The product bears the establishment number “P- 9136” printed on the package.

Meanwhile, Foremost Food Company is recalling its 35.27-ounce Pamana mini fruit jelly cups because the cups could be a potential choking hazard. Jelly cups have previously led to choking deaths in children, according to the Pamana recall.
