- Where: The Paradise Grills outdoor kitchen recall is active in the United States.
Paradise Grills issued a recall on about 18,000 of its First Generation Outdoor Kitchen products after two incidents of the grills exploding, causing severe burns.Â
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website published the recall Feb. 16.Â
It applies to all First Generation Paradise Grills Outdoor Kitchens sold at Paradise Grills showrooms and at home, boat and RV shows nationwide from January 2009 through December 2020, for between $4,000 and $15,000.
According to the Paradise Grills recall, liquid propane gas can accumulate inside the closed lid and cabinets, causing an explosion when the user relights the grill, posing fire and burn hazards to the user.
The company received two reports of explosions, causing serious injuries to consumers. It is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Consumers in Florida, Texas, Georgia and Alabama should immediately contact Paradise Grills to schedule a date for completion of their free repair. Consumers in all other states should immediately contact Paradise Grills to receive free shipment of the vent, installation instructions and reimbursement for the installation cost by a qualified professional or technician.Â
The firm will require a copy of the installer’s invoice or billing statement for the installation service, the recall notice says.
Other recalled outdoor equipment has been in the news in recent months.

We received the recall notice 4/1/2023, called, as instructed on 4/3/2023. We have a GX-5-1. They tell us we are not affected. Why did we get the recall notice? Can we really believe them that our grill is not affected as everything else they seem to say is not necessarily true?
