  • Why: The products may contain undeclared egg.
  • Where: The Knorr soup recall is active in the United States.

Unilever recalled three types of Knorr soup mix products, as they may contain undeclared egg, a known allergen for some people.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) website published the recall Aug. 10. It applies to certain batches of Knorr Estrellitas con Tomate Tomato Based Star Pasta Soup Mix, Knorr Fideos con Tomate Tomato Based Pasta Soup Mix and Knorr Letras con Tomate Tomato Based Alphabet Pasta Soup Mix, all with best-if-used-by dates before and including July 6, 2024. Consumers can view the exact UPC codes on the FDA’s website

According to the recall, the products may contain egg, which is not listed as an ingredient on the label.

“Persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the Knorr soup recall states.

The company has not received any reports of consumer complaints or allergic reactions associated with the product, the recall says. However, it urged anyone concerned about an allergic reaction to contact a health care provider.

Unilever is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Knorr offers refund on recalled soup mixes, recall states

Knorr distributed the recalled products to retailers nationwide, the soup recall states.

Consumers who purchased the recalled product should not consume it and should visit knorrsoparecall.com to apply for a refund, the Knorr soup recall says.

To receive a refund, consumers should take a picture of the back of the product that clearly shows the UPC and best-if-used-by date.

Knorr faced another recall in 2022 when MSI Express Inc. recalled about 8.2 tons of Knorr Professional Soup Du Jour Red Thai Style Curry Chicken With Rice Soup Mix, as they also contained milk that was not declared on the packet.
