A Husqvarna recall has been issued for more than 420,000 gas-powered grass trimmers in the United States and Canada due to faulty wiring that can lead to electrical sparking or arcing, causing a fire hazard.

The grass trimmers recall includes three model numbers including 330LK with stock numbers of 970514501 through 970514505 and 970545001. Model 130C has stock numbers 970514301 through 970514303 along with both 970694601 and 970694701. Model 130L has stock numbers 970514401 through 970514403 and both 970694801 and 970694901.

The grass trimmers were sold at Husqvarna dealers, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, other home and garden stores and on Amazon.com from October 2021 to November 2023, at prices between $250 and $300.

12 reports of grass trimmer fires, 1 with injury, Husqvarna recall says

Husqvarna says in its grass trimmers recall that it has had 12 reports of grass trimmers catching fire. These include two instances of property damage and one consumer who suffered arm and leg burns while attempting to put out the fire.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the Husqvarna recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Husqvarna asks that customers immediately stop using the grass trimmers and contact a  Husqvarna dealer for a free repair. The company can be reached by phone at 877-257-6921 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, via email at [email protected], or online.

Husqvarna recalled more than 7,000 snow blowers in the United States and Canada in July 2023 as they can go into drive mode unexpectedly on their own.
