A federal judge in Illinois has signed off on a $15 million settlement agreement to end claims revolving around an alleged failure to warn of adverse side effects associated with Seresto flea and tick collars.Â
More than 20 separate class action lawsuits have been filed against Bayer and others since March 2021 by plaintiffs claiming Seresto flea and tick collars caused side effects including anorexia, lethargy, vomiting, behavioral problems and death.Â
Plaintiffs involved in the flea collar settlement further argued Seresto flea and tick collars were misrepresented as being effective for eight months, in spite of the alleged adverse health risks associated with the products.Â
Bayer sold more than $300 million worth of Seresto flea and tick collars in 2019 prior to selling the brand to Elanco the following year, reports Law360.Â
Bayer, Elanco not admitting to wrongdoing by agreeing to Seresto settlement
Bayer and Elanco admit to no wrongdoing in the Seresto settlement, which calls for class members to receive $13 for each flea and tick collar they purchased.Â
Class members whose pets were injured by the Seresto flea and tick collars are also eligible to receive a $25 payment for economic losses, while claimants whose pets died in connection with the collars can receive a $300 payment along with additional reimbursement.Â
In other Bayer-related news, the company filed a $12 million lawsuit against its former chemical supplier Aeropres Corporation in July 2023 over claims the supplier was liable for damages the company incurred after it was forced to recall a pair of antifungal sprays in 2021.Â

Can I still be added to the settlement? My cat has a bad burn on his neck I have photos and proof of purchase.
My cat has been made very sick by seresto collars and now may die after loosing 20 lbs. won’t eat has become lathargic can’t drink water is pooping blood and vomiting green. stopped purring a year ago is in pain to touch and 2 years of diareah on the very best vet rx food. Please add me to class action suit. This was a therapy cat for 3 special needs children with sever autism, like me.

First, the claims process ended. Checks are going out. Saying add me does nothing. You should have filled a claim. Saying add me, does nothing. You need to file a claim for any class action. Stupid people like you is the reason those who file get a little more money. Stupid.

I purchased a Seresto flea collar for my dachshund on Tuesday night May 21st 2025 . After applying it my dog started vomiting and could not poop and is still constipated and vomiting on May 23rd2025. I removed the collar and will bathe her and give clean bedding. I may still have to take her to the vet.
