nonstick pan with wooden spoonA class action lawsuit claims that Blue Diamond Enhanced Ceramic Non-Stick Pans are not non-stick, as advertised by The Cookware Company in TV and social media ads.

Plaintiff Elena Lamb claims that Blue Diamond non-stick pans fail to live up to marketing claims.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action, consumers such as Lamb were deceived into paying a higher price based on these representations.

Blue Diamond cookware is a line of enhanced ceramic non-stick pans from The Cookware Company. The pans, which are heavily advertised on TV and social media, are reportedly coated with a ceramic, diamond-infused non-stick layer. The layer is advertised as being five times harder, four times faster and 10 times longer lasting than traditional non-stick coatings.

Lamb says these representations are false.

The class action lawsuit claims that Lamb purchased a Blue Diamond pan with the expectation that it would perform as advertised. Instead of an easy, non-stick experience, Lamb reportedly dealt with food sticking to the pan and a “messy and difficult” clean up process. She allegedly tried to cook an egg as directed on the label but was met with the same sticky result multiple times.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit, Lamb completely stopped using the pan due to its disappointing performance.

Consumer complaints reportedly express similar frustrations with the pans. Customers claim their Blue Diamond pans are not non-stick and even stick more than a regular pan. Other consumers say the pans are not durable and quickly accumulate chips and scrapes.

“Despite the myriad of nonstick representations made by Defendant, the Pan simply does not perform its most basic and critical function—to provide users with a nonstick cooking experience,” the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit claims.

According to Lamb, she and other consumers would not have purchased the products or would not have paid as much had they known that the Blue Diamond pans were not non-stick. The Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit also claims that The Cookware Company knew their misrepresentations would drive purchasing decisions and increase profits.

“Defendant has voluntarily accepted and retained these profits and benefits, with full knowledge and awareness that, as a result of Defendant’s misconduct, Plaintiff and the Class did not receive Product of the quality, nature, fitness, or value that had been represented by Defendant, and that reasonable consumers expected,” alleges the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit.

Lamb seeks to represent a Class of consumers who purchased the Blue Diamond pans and a subclass of the same consumers from Florida. On behalf of this proposed Class, the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, damages, court costs, and attorneys’ fees.

This morning when I was using my blue diamond skillet on my glass stove top, the kitchen started smelling. It was a weird chemical smell. Then I realized it was the smell of the blue finish on the pan burning and sticking to my glass top. I had normal heat on but the finish burned off onto the glass top. I have used glass top cleaner and have gotten most of it off, but the glass surface has a curved streak where the edge of the pan’s finish burned off. It is not very noticeable but this should not have happened. I can still use my glass top but it is not the pretty shiny top I had. The curved area has a different look. This was the 4th time I had used the pan.

  2. John Larsen says:

Had problems with the Blue Diamond pans right from the beginning. Following instructions, food stuck to the pan and were difficult to clean. Had to use oil or butter to keep eggs and other foods from sticking. Even soup recipees made stains on the bottom difficult to clean. Had to use water, vinegar and baking soda to get food residue to come loose. I still have a set of non-stick cooking pans purchased 15 years ago that perform 100% better than Blue Diamond. Worst set of non-stick cookware I’ve ever had.

  3. Tom says:

Pan worked great for about a month. Then eggs started sticking now it has stains and won’t come clean. I have followed all the recommendations for cleaning and handling. This is a piece of junk. Save your money and buy a cheap pan they will work better. Hope the company gets hosed!

  4. Paulrossi says:

Absolute junk. Everything started sticking immediately upon cooking. The bottom of the pan is literally a build up of crust. No amount of oil or agitation with a wooden spoon can keep the crust from forming and building up.

  5. Angela carter says:

I bought the green diamond pan set and they are junk. Everything sticks and they are less than a year old.

  6. G says:

If they lied about the non stick, who is checking about the safety of the pan coating. I , for one am sick of wasting money on this garbage coming from offshore. As bad as Teflon was these are worse.

  7. Julie Monroe says:

I bought they pans after 20 years of cooking on cast iron. I am so disappointed. Everything sticks and I do mean everything! I do not want the company to replace the set plus Xtra I bought. I want money back. I spent way to much on this set. And for the lady that keeps saying she don’t know what we’re talking about i wish I could post pics on here. It is not operator error either. I have been cooking for 30 years and I’m very piticular about my cooking

  8. Elliott says:

I purchased 2 Blue Diamond pans at Costco when they went on sale. I did not use them for a couple of months. I started use them last month. Food already sticks on the pan no matter how much oil I use and also left dark spots on the pan. Second pan was worse. It is not worth buying them. That’s all I have to say.

  9. Bridgette Chabot says:

It’s making me extremely angry that food is sticking to my expensive pan! Even grilled cheese sandwiches and butter shouldn’t stick!? So disappointed that I had to buy a new set after spending a fortune on this one.

  10. Ron Rottet says:

My Blue Diamond skillets both stick. Haven’t had the same problem with the pots since they aren’t used as much. My set is less than two years old and i would not recommend them.
