nonstick pan with wooden spoonA class action lawsuit claims that Blue Diamond Enhanced Ceramic Non-Stick Pans are not non-stick, as advertised by The Cookware Company in TV and social media ads.

Plaintiff Elena Lamb claims that Blue Diamond non-stick pans fail to live up to marketing claims.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action, consumers such as Lamb were deceived into paying a higher price based on these representations.

Blue Diamond cookware is a line of enhanced ceramic non-stick pans from The Cookware Company. The pans, which are heavily advertised on TV and social media, are reportedly coated with a ceramic, diamond-infused non-stick layer. The layer is advertised as being five times harder, four times faster and 10 times longer lasting than traditional non-stick coatings.

Lamb says these representations are false.

The class action lawsuit claims that Lamb purchased a Blue Diamond pan with the expectation that it would perform as advertised. Instead of an easy, non-stick experience, Lamb reportedly dealt with food sticking to the pan and a “messy and difficult” clean up process. She allegedly tried to cook an egg as directed on the label but was met with the same sticky result multiple times.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit, Lamb completely stopped using the pan due to its disappointing performance.

Consumer complaints reportedly express similar frustrations with the pans. Customers claim their Blue Diamond pans are not non-stick and even stick more than a regular pan. Other consumers say the pans are not durable and quickly accumulate chips and scrapes.

“Despite the myriad of nonstick representations made by Defendant, the Pan simply does not perform its most basic and critical function—to provide users with a nonstick cooking experience,” the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit claims.

According to Lamb, she and other consumers would not have purchased the products or would not have paid as much had they known that the Blue Diamond pans were not non-stick. The Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit also claims that The Cookware Company knew their misrepresentations would drive purchasing decisions and increase profits.

“Defendant has voluntarily accepted and retained these profits and benefits, with full knowledge and awareness that, as a result of Defendant’s misconduct, Plaintiff and the Class did not receive Product of the quality, nature, fitness, or value that had been represented by Defendant, and that reasonable consumers expected,” alleges the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit.

Lamb seeks to represent a Class of consumers who purchased the Blue Diamond pans and a subclass of the same consumers from Florida. On behalf of this proposed Class, the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, damages, court costs, and attorneys’ fees.

  1. Dianne Brantley says:

I purchased the large frying pan from Walmart in Laurinburg, NC. The beginning use of the pan was great. After 12 uses my pan has now starting sticking when cooking sausage, squash and other foods. I have been very careful when using my pan hoping to prevent the sticking problem, which now has started. I am very disappointed with the advertising of Blue Diamond Products and would like a refund!

  2. Andrew Neeley says:

We loved our 10 inch pan when we got it. But then food started sticking to it. Contacted customer service. Twice. Never heard anything back.

  3. Jama Beyers says:

My blue diamond skillet was great in the beginning. I’ve never used metal in it and I hand wash it after use. Now everything seems to stick. Can’t make eggs, bacon, pork chops, etc. I even added olive oil when frying bacon and the bacon adhered to the pan! So disappointed and feel I was duped by the advertising.

  4. Valerie Riley says:

Was great at first, but everything sticks now. I only use plastic spatulas. Very disappointed especially when they are expensive to buy.

  5. John young says:

I bought two skillets and they both stick badly.
No metal Utensils were ever used the pans are not scratched they’ve never been overheated yet cooking anything even at mild heat causes sticking.
very frustrating I love the look of the pans, but they aren’t worth a darn for cooking anything.
    Terrible product

  6. Shawn Zaiontz says:

I bought a full set and expected them to underperform. First thing I cooked on it was fried eggs and of course it didn’t turn out like the ones in the commercials. The only reason I bought them for is because they were non stick. I would like to throw them through the window of who is behind this product… I doubt glass will stick them but would scratch up the diamond surface

  7. Susan Conkey says:

We, too, have one. I never put metal to the pan, no fork, no tongs, no flippers..finish is coming off sides. Food sticks…even bacon, which would, in essence, provide the grease of butter or oil… I would also like to join the suit, but the only proof I have of purchase is the pan, itself, no receipt as we have had it more than 90 days

  8. Michael Peterson says:

Terrible pan, is not non stick. I have given up using this cookware all together. Worst purchase I have ever made.

    1. Anthony Farretta says:

Pan totally sucks. Everything sticks. I have tried low heat, high heat, medium heat, oil and butter. It is worse than the cheapest pans I own.

  9. Jacquolyn Albert says:

I also have problems with sticking. We bought the full set and I donated my stainless ones. What a mistake. These pans nick easily, everything sticks and we’ve only had them over a year. How do I join the suit.

  10. Brian Holmes says:

I bought a Blue Diamond skillet a few weeks ago because of its advertised non-stick properties. The first thing I cooked in the pan was fried eggs. The eggs stuck to the bottom of the pan creating quite a mess. The pan also left behind a burned in residue on my glass top stove. Last night I tried griddling buns in the pan for burgers I was cooking on the grill. The buns even stuck to the pan and butter burned in leaving behind charring in the pan. This was on moderate heat. I find it difficult to believe that during testing the manufacturer did not become aware of these issues, yet there they are on retail shelves.
