nonstick pan with wooden spoonA class action lawsuit claims that Blue Diamond Enhanced Ceramic Non-Stick Pans are not non-stick, as advertised by The Cookware Company in TV and social media ads.

Plaintiff Elena Lamb claims that Blue Diamond non-stick pans fail to live up to marketing claims.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action, consumers such as Lamb were deceived into paying a higher price based on these representations.

Blue Diamond cookware is a line of enhanced ceramic non-stick pans from The Cookware Company. The pans, which are heavily advertised on TV and social media, are reportedly coated with a ceramic, diamond-infused non-stick layer. The layer is advertised as being five times harder, four times faster and 10 times longer lasting than traditional non-stick coatings.

Lamb says these representations are false.

The class action lawsuit claims that Lamb purchased a Blue Diamond pan with the expectation that it would perform as advertised. Instead of an easy, non-stick experience, Lamb reportedly dealt with food sticking to the pan and a “messy and difficult” clean up process. She allegedly tried to cook an egg as directed on the label but was met with the same sticky result multiple times.

According to the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit, Lamb completely stopped using the pan due to its disappointing performance.

Consumer complaints reportedly express similar frustrations with the pans. Customers claim their Blue Diamond pans are not non-stick and even stick more than a regular pan. Other consumers say the pans are not durable and quickly accumulate chips and scrapes.

“Despite the myriad of nonstick representations made by Defendant, the Pan simply does not perform its most basic and critical function—to provide users with a nonstick cooking experience,” the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit claims.

According to Lamb, she and other consumers would not have purchased the products or would not have paid as much had they known that the Blue Diamond pans were not non-stick. The Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit also claims that The Cookware Company knew their misrepresentations would drive purchasing decisions and increase profits.

“Defendant has voluntarily accepted and retained these profits and benefits, with full knowledge and awareness that, as a result of Defendant’s misconduct, Plaintiff and the Class did not receive Product of the quality, nature, fitness, or value that had been represented by Defendant, and that reasonable consumers expected,” alleges the Blue Diamond pans class action lawsuit.

Lamb seeks to represent a Class of consumers who purchased the Blue Diamond pans and a subclass of the same consumers from Florida. On behalf of this proposed Class, the Blue Diamond class action lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, damages, court costs, and attorneys’ fees.

  1. Catrina Brooks says:

I had to throw this pan away and I bought it strictly for the nonstick aspect

  2. ReAnne Mayo says:

My diamond blue pan sucks. I use way more oil, butter, or fat renderings than was advertised needed. How do I join this class action suit? Anyone else having to scrape the pan like they are being baked in an oven for to long. I’m over it! This product never delivered past the first day I started using it.

  3. Suzanne G Casasnovas says:

I have had these pans less than a year. Some of them have rust on them, there are certainly not non-stick, and who the heck makes cookware with handles that conduct heat!???? I burnt my hand on the pot handle so bad it immediately blistered! The pain is immense! I should sue them for pain and suffering!

  4. Ken Craft says:

Have had these for less than a month and eggs stick like there is no tomorrow. Ready to throw them away and buy a new set.

  5. Hanna Myers says:

Commenting to say these pans are amazing! The clean up is a breeze and food doesn’t seem to stick if you use a small bit of olive oil. If you follow the care guide that comes with the pans they work wonderfully. If you beat them up like they do in the commercial they’ll be ruined..just be kind to them and do as the care guide says and they’re a great set of pans. I enjoy them and look forward to trying out their grill pan as well.

  6. Donna L Cornwall says:

I bought the 3 piece set of frying pans. Being very careful to follow directions, nothing touched the pan except what was allowed for cooking and washing. After about a month, eggs began to stick. The clean up was horrendous! It isn’t worth the clean up anymore. All 3 are going in a box in case anything ever comes of this. Shameful what this company has done!.

  7. Neil MacPherson says:

All I can say is absolute junk, I even sent an email to the company about a chip in the coating after I had gotten it home, they sent back a nasty email stating it was my fault and that I needed to read the care instructions, I hadn’t even used it yet. Never again

    1. Joseph Abrams says:

I did my research before buying these pans. Figured best bang for the buck. Hasn’t been 6 months and we’re disappointed already. Mind you a Set of Emeril, cookware I bought 13 years ago was nearly flawless when I looked for updated replacements. This, a testament either to quality cookware or my ability to care for it. One pan out of that set went bad, and that was my fault due to overheating.

I read the care instructions to my family as we unpacked them, and followed them to the letter. Food has begun to stick a few months ago or longer. The buildup has accumulated that couldn’t be removed. Chips of coating have disappeared and I can’t deal with this. Looking for replacement sets. I don’t believe in buying non-consumable things twice, yet here I am.

Let me know how this goes. I’d be happy with my money back towards a new set.

  8. Danae Ward says:

I have two pans one is the larger size and I believe the other is a 10in. There are scrapes on the side of the pan that actually almost look like stretch marks. I would not and have not ever used metal utensils in a pan of any type, and I never did in these. They are literal junk. I’m sorry that I bought them and I do have the receipts for them. Please add me to the class action.

  9. Carol Hoblitzell says:

I have 2 size pans as I loved the 1st one so much. It didn’t take long for them both to start sticking. One of the pans you can see half has a bit of shine and the other half does not. They are very disappointing.

    1. Troy Gibson says:

Omg yes! I just came across this…. I have two of their pans. And absolute disaster. These are a joke and are not nonstick. I have pics galore cause I send to my dad as he’s the one who talked me into them.

  10. Melanie Marsh says:

Definitely loses its charm after only a few uses. Had I known they were this bad, I’d have bought something either cheaper or that worked better.
