Paparazzi Toxic Heavy Metals Jewelry Class Action Lawsuit Overview:

  • Who: Tamie Hollins filed a class action lawsuit against Paparazzi, LLC.
  • Why: Hollins claims Paparazzi deceptively and misleadingly represented that its jewelry products don’t contain lead or nickel.
  • Where: The class action lawsuit was filed in New York federal court.

Paparazzi deceptively and misleadingly represented that its jewelry products are “lead-free and nickel-free,” a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Tamie Hollins claims jewelry sold by Paparazzi actually contains “detectable levels of lead and nickel” in addition to other heavy metals.

Paparazzi removed the “lead-free and nickel-free” representation from the company’s website between Nov. 20, 2021, and Jan. 9, 2022, according to the Paparazzi class action. However, many consumers had already purchased the jewelry with the belief that it was free of the metals.

A jewelry maker will use lead in its products to make them “more stable, brighten the paint or soften the plastic,” according to the Paparazzi class action.

Toxic Lead In Paparazzi Jewelry Endangers Consumers’ Health, Class Action Claims

Hollins argues lead is “toxic” and can lead to adverse health effects such as anemia, organ failure and learning disabilities.

Had consumers known Paparazzi’s jewelry products contained toxic heavy metals such as lead and nickel, Hollins claims, they would have neither purchased nor consumed them.

In addition to lead and nickel, Hollins claims Paparazzi’s jewelry products also contain toxic heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium and antimony.

Hollins claims Paparazzi is guilty of unjust enrichment and negligence and in violation of strict product liability and New York General Business Law

He wants to represent a nationwide class and New York subclass of consumers who have purchased a Paparazzi product when the company was making the allegedly false representations.

Plaintiff is demanding a jury trial and requesting declaratory relief along with compensatory, incidental, consequential and punitive or exemplary damages for herself and all class members.

A separate class action lawsuit was filed against Jared the Galleria of Jewelry owner Sterling Jewelers last year over claims the company inflates the weight of its diamonds

  1. Ashley Miller says:

I was a consultant for almost 5 years. I promoted lead and nickel free jewelry to all my customers. I sold jewelry to little girls who love jewelry and wanted to be like mommy. What about the little girl who was highly allergic to nickel? I sold earrings to her. I have inventory in my house that I cannot ethically sell to anyone because of the falsehood. I want compensation for my inventory plus all the items I purchased to promote my business. Paparazzi Accessories buy back program is absolutely ridiculous. You can’t return anything for a refund. If you do, you are automatically terminated. If you already resigned, you cannot return anything for any percentage of money. I was encouraged to always buy jewelry by my upline to win prizes like laptops, jewelry, clothing, trips, etc. I can remember my elite leader purchasing a highly sought after piece then using that piece to encourage people to place orders for a chance to win that hot piece. The owners are not holding trainings for your business. It is a bunch of motivational speeches and a mission trip to get it a tax write off. Why is it always in the Dominican Republic? I have a theory that the company holds money in accounts down there for tax purposes. Why doesn’t the company publish their testing? They say that people are being dishonest about the testing. Show us your proof Paparazzi Accessories! If you actually test your jewelry, publish it. The thing is….what you are doing is increasing your resignations of consultants who have thousands of dollars of inventory that they cannot sell. Their attorney in California is a ioke.

I have a whole house full of it . Is there a way to recoup some of our money lost?

  3. Wendy Detweiler says:

Add me; purchased it believing it was lead and nickel free

  4. Kristine M Seidel says:

I was a consultant for almost 3 years. I have tons of inventory sitting because of their lies.. and because I can’t sell something that I don’t believe in!! Please add me … they deserve to be put in check and be responsible for all they put us through… I’m happy to be no longer brainwashed!!!

  5. Adrienne says:

I was a consultant for 3 years under the impression that the jewelry was lead and nickel free. It has since come out that it is not. I still have over 3k pieces I couldn’t sell. I feel lied to and would like to be a part this as well.

  6. .Lisa Marie says:

Please add me. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on Paparazzi jewelry. I purchased it because they said it was lead and nickel free. As it shows the jewelry is not what is supposed to be nickel and lead free. I given history to my mother to my friends and to little children not knowing that there was lead and nickel in this jewelry from paparazzi. Paparazzi is playing with a Health and our lives which I do not appreciate. I hope they will be accountable for all the lies that they said and for the thousands of dollars we all spent on their five dollar jewelry. I’m disgusted and upset at myself for giving this cheap jewelry to people who I care and love. I told him to throw all the jewelry out not to leave anything in their house because of all the lead and nickel that is contained in the story. I hope they make paparazzi pay for what they did to all of us whether we’re consulting or just a buyer. I hope that they will be charged for everything that they did to all of us including our children. I hope this company will be dissolved and that we all could be reimbursed for all the jewelry we still have in storage. I have hundreds and hundreds of pieces still here boxed not knowing what to do with it . We can’t throw it in regular garbage because it’s contaminated. Please please do what you need to do to take this company down and to save all of us from getting sick. And thank you to the law firms who is taking this case up for us we all truly appreciate it .

  7. Beth says:

I was a consultant and I still have many pieces that I need to toss! Out all of my hard earned money with what is left! I quit due to not being able to afford to buy the pieces anymore and then all of the misleading claims! I have purchased myself and sadly sold to my friends and family and who knows what effects this jewelry has had on their health as well as my own.

  8. Jennifer Olds says:

I was a consultant for 9 months and spent over $3,000 worth of inventory

  9. Geraldine Souza says:

I was the top purchaser and seller in Paparazzi accessories. I was Empire in the company. I have done personal tests on multiple products with certified reputable labs that have hugely elevated levels of toxic metals to include the children items. Paparazzi has failed to show proof that they have tested any of their jewelry and showing it pass any propositions to include prop 65. I had extreme medical issues to include migraines- extreme hair loss- skin issues- intestinal tract issues. This company needs to be held responsible for their false claims.

  10. Terry King says:

Add me please. As a consultant from March 2020 to December 2021, I purchased inventory in excessive amounts. I suffered financially, emotionally, and physically.
