Kia hasnโt admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the Hyundai class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the Hyundai class action lawsuit settlement, class members can receive out-of-pocket expense reimbursement, compensation for trade-ins and sales, compensation for total vehicle losses, warranty extensions and participate in a rebate program.ย
To be eligible for certain types of compensation โ such as for rental car, towing, ride-sharing or other transportation and incidental expenses โ under the Hyundai class action lawsuit settlement, the knock sensor detection software (KSDS) update on the class vehicle must be performed on or before Nov. 4, 2023.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that is on its 4th replacement motor right now. Iโve spent so much money on it and so much of the time Iโve had it, itโs just been a driveway ornament. I bought this car used, when itโs 3rd motor gave out. And on top of how many times itโs been replaced, those motors are impossible to find used at a junk yard or anywhere for under $3000 dollars. They are rediculously expensive and I live on a fixed income, my money is limited, I canโt just pay 3000 dollars every 6 months. To top it off, my car has blue link that still hasnโt been set up for me to use itโฆ. itโs a headache.
I have hyundai s0nata 2017 and hyundai replace the engine block ,received a check for towing, hotel and car rental i did not have any problem to get my money back.
Same submitted all the paperwork for Kia then they say itโs not complete. They have been giving me the run around for the past year.
You guys are really stupid, Kia does not own Hyundai, Hyundai is the parent company of Kia because they acquired majority stock in 1998 after Kia files for bankruptcy in 1997. Do some research before looking stupid on the internet.
You call them stupid, itโs so unnecessary. If they were smart, they wouldnโt buy a KIA or Hyundai .
Iโve been driving my 2012 Kia Optima SXTGDI Since it was new. It now has 304,000 miles on it now and still looks and rides perfectly. I have a warranty on my shortblock good for unlimited miles. Hyundai and Kia vehicles are very well built a d offer the best warranty on the market.
My plan was to drive my 2012 Sorento til it died of natural causes. I had the engine replacement about 100k and was T boned at 170k.
The engine was going strong, no oil burning. However all airbags except the steering wheel deployed. Totaled.
Broke my heart. It was a 2 row Sorento with alot of storage. Now itโs only 3 row Sorento.
I have a 2015 Kia Sorento and the engine failed still waiting for my rental reimbursement
I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. Needed to replace engine last year. Kept up with all maintenance
I have been dealing with rental reimbursement for over a year now. (2013 Hyundai Tucson; knock engine sensor failure; engine replacedโat dealership from Feb. 15, 2023 through April 26, 2023). Every time I send Hyundai all the documents they request, they say I sent the wrong form or the receipt needs more documentation on it or something similar. This has been going on for over a year. Now theyโre saying they canโt reimburse the rental expenses because the address for the โrental car companyโ (Iโve told them repeatedly and documented via letter and invoice and receipt and rental agreement that I rented a car from a real estate company my son owns) shows up as a swing set company when they google it. The address is for a building that houses several companies, which Iโve also explained to them.
The long and short of itโevery timeโEvery. Single. Time.โ I get all the documentation they ask for, Hyundai changes the rules and says they need more info or this or that isnโt right. This can be nothing be delay tactics to wear me out so they donโt have to pay. Iโve contacted the Missouri Attorney Generalโs Consumer Complaint Division, and their letters were ignored for the first 60 days. What else can I do???
Cars are junk ,Hyundai does not care about fixing the issue, if they did problem would have been fixed years ago ,problem is an ongoing issue and there appears to be no end in sight
I have a 2015 soul which never seems to be qualified either. It burns oil damn near like gas. Shouldnโt that be some kind of recall massive oil burning? And I donโt know which engine I have in my car how do I find that out, on this last suit. All I know is Iโll still be paying on a car for 3 years that wonโt be running that infuriates me Iโm disabled I canโt walk to appointments. What do I do 7
why arenโt my vehical included? My 2017 Hyundai Accent back in Febuary 2023, the engine began knocking the lost power and the engine shout down. I had to have it towed to my dadโs house. The engine is blown from engine failure. I had just had it service a month earlier. Itโs the same engine thatโs in other Hyundai cars but I donโt see that they encluded the Accent. Why is that? have you looked into the problems with the Hyundai Accent engines?
