Keurig has agreed to pay $31 million to resolve claims it violated antitrust laws by fixing the price of its Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs products.

The settlement benefits individuals who purchased Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs from retailers other than Keurig between Sept. 7, 2010, and Aug. 14, 2020, in all states other than Mississippi and Rhode Island; between March 24, 2011, and Aug. 14, 2020, in Mississippi; or between July 15, 2013, and Aug. 14, 2020, in Rhode Island.

Claims against Keurig were consolidated in June 2014. According to the plaintiffs in the eight consolidated class action lawsuits, Keurig violated antitrust laws in order to monopolize the market for single-serve coffee pods. This monopoly allegedly allowed the company to artificially fix the price of Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs products — subjecting consumers to financial strain that wouldn’t exist in a healthy market.

In December 2017, these claims were preserved by a federal judge who denied the company’s motion for dismissal.

Keurig has not admitted any wrongdoing in the case but has agreed to a $31 million Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs class action settlement. The settlement provides reimbursement for Keurig K-Cup purchases in the form of cash payments. Reimbursement rates will vary from 0.75% to 100% depending on the state the purchase was made in and whether proof of purchase was submitted with a claim.

In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members must file a valid claim form by July 15, 2021. Proof of purchase of Keurig K-Cup purchases and information about these purchases (number of K-Cups purchased, price paid, state where purchase took place, brand name, etc.) is required to validate claims.

The deadline for exclusion is May 14, 2021. The deadline for objection is May 17, 2021. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 4, 2021.

I have receipts from when they were purchased on Amazon. I am also pretty sure I can get my receipts off of my Costco account. Please include me.

  2. Jan Kardos says:

Been purchasing k cups since they came out and do not save receipts but have spent lots of money on the portion pack as well as for 4 coffee machines since they came out!!!! Add me please.

  3. Nicole L. says:

Wow, what a joke this is requiring receipts for coffee for 10 years. I got my first Keurig for Christmas in 2010. It was worth the purchase for the machine. I just had to buy my second one a couple months ago because the buttons kept sticking. I’m very disappointed in keurig and whoever made the decision that receipts were a requirement for coffee pods for this settlement. I’ve spent so much on coffee pods over the past 10+ years.

  4. Kenya Criss says:

Please add me. I d not this have the receipts but normally buy once a month at the same location for the last 3 years or more.

  5. Stephen David says:

  8. Dan Stafford says:

So I have two of these machines, one at home one at the office , every body has to have the flavor they want ! Now this – really pisses me off , after this it’s just a coffee pot .
    Please add me

  9. Debbie says:

What is real sad, seeing how no one keeps receipts…is the fact that in the last 14 or so years, I have purchased at least 8 keurig coffee makers for myself and for gifts, app. $1,600. For all those pots that seemed to last app. 2 years at most. This cheap $100.00 one is my absolute last one ever..it makes me angry that I have seriously spent way over $15,000. In at least the last 12 years for coffee…it took me about 30 fricken minutes to fill out their claim forms.

  10. Kelly says:

That’s a void way for the lawyers to make money. Who keeps grocery receipts?
Wow, keurig you’re greedy Didn’t make enough profit yet, huh?
