Elixir Cosmetics OPCO LLC has agreed to a $2.3 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming the company failed to disclose potential risks and side effects associated with an ingredient in certain Babe Lash and Babe Brow products.

The class is made up of anyone who purchased Babe Lash Essential Lash Serum, Babe Lash Eyelash Serum, Babe Amplifying Brow Serum and ‎‎Babe Brow Serum from Elixir for personal, family, household purposes or professional purposes between June 1, 2019, and Jan. 19, 2024.

Elixir allegedly failed to disclose the isopropyl cloprostenate in Babe Lash Essential Lash Serum, Babe Lash Eyelash Serum, Babe Amplifying Brow Serum and ‎‎Babe Brow Serum may carry potential side effects and a risk of adverse reactions. 

Elixir makes a variety of beauty products for skin, face and hair.

Under the settlement terms, class members are eligible to claim a cash payment.

Class members who file a claim but are unable to provide valid proof of purchase will be entitled to $25 per household.

Class members who submit a claim form and either appear in Elixir’s purchase records or provide proof of purchase of one of the covered products will be entitled to up to $25 per unit.

The deadline to opt out of the settlement is April 19, 2024.

A final hearing in the Babe Lash settlement will take place Jan. 24, 2025.

The deadline to submit a claim is April 19, 2024.

Who’s Eligible

Anyone who purchased Babe Lash Essential Lash Serum, Babe Lash Eyelash Serum, Babe Amplifying Brow Serum and ‎‎Babe Brow Serum from Elixir for personal, family, household purposes or professional purposes between June 1, 2019, and Jan. 19, 2024.

Potential Award

$25 per unit.

Proof of Purchase

Proof of purchase is not required, but class members may submit receipts, canceled checks, credit card statements or other documentation showing payment for purchases of the covered products to receive a higher possible settlement payment.
