Time Inc. has agreed to pay $7.4 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it violated Michigan’s privacy laws by disclosing information about customers’ magazine subscriptions to third parties.
If you had a Michigan street address and purchased a subscription to a Time publication directly from Time at any time from Feb. 19, 2013 and Feb. 19, 2016, you may be entitled to payment from the Time magazine subscription class action settlement.

Plaintiff Carolyn Perlin initially filed the Time magazine subscription class action lawsuit in February 2016. Perlin claims Time discloses personal information about its subscribers to third parties without the subscribers’ consent. Perlin asserts that the disclosure of subscribers’ personal information is a violation of Michigan’s Video Rental Privacy Act.Time denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the magazine subscription class action lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty and expense of ongoing litigation.Approximately 719,000 Class Members may be eligible for benefits from the Time magazine subscription settlement.In addition to providing cash payments to eligible Class Members who file timely and valid claims, Time has also agreed not to disclose Michigan magazine subscriber information to any third party companies without the prior express written consent of the subscriber for a period of two years.The Time class action settlement was preliminarily approved on July 5, 2018.The deadline to opt out of or object to the Time magazine subscription class action settlement is Sept. 14, 2018.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the Time magazine subscription settlement include anyone with a Michigan street address who purchased a subscription to a Time publication directly from Time (but not through a Time website) between Feb. 19, 2013 and Feb. 19, 2016.
Potential Award
Approximately $25 – $50.
The amount each eligible claimant receives will depend on the total number of timely and valid claims filed.

My wifes name was Mary Campbell.she passed on Dec. 14 2018.I received a check for 105.03 on 10 30 2019 My name is James T. Johnson can a check be reissued in my name?
Why do these people not understand they have to contact the settlement people directly or file a claim themselves? There is no ad me.
My husband received a settlement check in the amount of $57.81. Unfortunately, he is now deceased and I am unable to cash the check or deposit it into my bank account. Can you please reissue the check to me? My husband’s name was Terry Mergenthaler and the claim # is TPR-C-10285904801 41510.

Here are the details I received my class settlement check for $57.81 but I put it in my purse and now it’s lost. I think it fell out in grocery store when I grabbed my wallet out. Who do I contact if I have a claim form but I have not received payment
