Did you register for the dating website PositiveSingles.com or any other website indicating it was “Powered by PositiveSingles.com” since 2007? You may be eligible to receive a refund of your membership fees from a class action lawsuit settlement.
The PositiveSingles.com settlement resolves two class action lawsuits (collectively known as Doe v. SuccessfulMatch.com) that accuse SuccessfulMatch.com of using false and misleading information on its websites to attract members and displayed profiles and photographs of PositiveSingles.com members without their permission.
SuccessfulMatch.com runs a series of dating websites, including PositiveSingles.com, an anonymous dating site for people with herpes, HPV, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit generally allege that the Defendant deceived them into believing that their private and personal information on the PositiveSingles website could not be accessed without their consent. As a result, Plaintiffs became members of SuccessfulMatch.com and paid membership fees to SuccessfulMatch.com. Plaintiffs are alleging claims for Unfair Competition (California Business and Professions Code § 17200 et seq.) and violation of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (California Civil Code § 1750 et seq.).
SuccessfulMatch.com denies any wrongdoing but agreed to establish a $4.2 million class action settlement fund to resolve the litigation and avoid the expense and uncertainty of going to trial.
UPDATE: Due to confusing language in the court-approved distribution plan, we erroneously reported that distribution of payments would go out in March 2016. However, Top Class Actions has discovered that online daters who filed a a claim for the PositiveSingles.com class action settlement should expect distribution after final funding is received in September 2018. Keep checking this article for more updates as they become available.

I signed up for the positive singles class action lawsuit as it applies to me. I haven’t heard back from anyone yet.
Never got a check and I was part of the California lawsuit. I kept my info updated anytime I moved.
I never received my check and updated my address several times. Is there a way to track this down still?
And I did file a claim. Non-california.
I received a check but didn’t deposit it in time. Now it is a stale check, may I receive a reissued check?
Did anyone who did not file a claim get a check? I am wondering if I got one coming
I received a check today and I am disgusted on how it came. On the check it list “Positive Singles Qualified Settlement Fund” and on the outside mailer. I thought privacy was the reason for the lawsuit.
Yes, I just received a check today for $95.97 and never filed anything either. And, as someone else just posted, it publicly displayed “positive singles qualified settlement fund” thru the envelope window. Wow. And from what I’m reading, the lack of privacy was the reason for the suit. Well, I’ll deposit the check, but it’s pretty horrible to find out my photo and info was made public from a membership in 2007 that was supposed to be private. Horrible.
I received a check today, 2-12-17, for $95.00.
I’d left Positive Singles so long ago that I’d completely forgotten about that site, which, it turned out, I didn’t need. Moreover, the list serve associated with Positive Singles attempted to censor speech, so I happily left on less than good terms with the administrators.
Question: what was the transgressions (s) Positive Singles was likely to be found guilty of?
In any event, It’s always fun to receive money “out of the blue.” Good luck to all.
