Aggrenox Generic Drug Delay Class Action Settlement Checks
Class Members in the Aggrenox generic drug delay class action lawsuit have received checks of up to $175.86.
Boehringer Ingelheim and Teva Pharmaceutical, among other companies, agreed to pay $54 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged the company, through anticompetitive agreements, delayed making a less-expensive, generic version of Aggrenox available.
According to the class action lawsuit, indirect purchasers of Aggrenox unfairly paid a higher price for the drug when drugmaker Barr acquired Teva.
The Aggrenox Generic Drug Delay Class Action Lawsuit was In re: Aggrenox Antitrust Litigation, Case No. 3:14-md-02516-SRU, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Onn Power Bank Class Action Settlement Payouts
Payments of up to $16.12 have arrived at Onn power bank settlement Class Members’ bank accounts.
Consumers who purchased an Onn power bank at Walmart were able to benefit from a $1.1 million class action settlement.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claimed Walmart misrepresented the power banks’ power capacity.
Because of this, the complaint said, customers were deceived into overpaying for the Onn power banks.
The Onn Power Bank Class Action Lawsuit was Michael Hester, et al. v. Walmart Inc., Case No. 5:18-cv-05225-TLB, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas
Washington Transvaginal Mesh Class Action Settlement Checks
By far the greatest amount any TCA reader reported this week was a check for $21,646.17 in the Washington transvaginal mesh class action settlement.
Other Class Members reported receiving payments of $14,431 and $7,215.
Johnson & Johnson agreed in April 2020 to a $9.9 million settlement to resolve claims its transvaginal mesh products are defective.
All Washington women who had received transvaginal mesh implants were eligible to benefit from the settlement.
According to the Washington state attorney general, about 45,000 women may have been affected by the settlement.
The Washington Transvaginal Mesh Class Action Lawsuit was State of Washington v. Johnson & Johnson, et al., Case No. 16-2-12186-1-SEA, in the Superior Court of the State of Washington in and for the County of King.
Johnson & Johnson Infants’ Tylenol Class Action Settlement Payouts
Class Members in the Johnson & Johnson Infants’ Tylenol class action lawsuit have been receiving payments of $5.20.
The company agreed to pay $6.3 million to resolve claims that Infants’ Tylenol was deceptively packaged as being a special formula for babies.
According to the class action lawsuit, the medicine was marketed using references to “infants” and a picture of a mother holding a child, leaving consumers to believe the pain killer was a special infant formula.
In reality, though, the plaintiff say, the representations were false, and the Infants’ Tylenol contained liquid acetaminophen in the same concentration as Children’s Tylenol.
The Infants’ Tylenol Class Action Lawsuit was Rony Elkies, et al. v. Johnson & Johnson Services Inc., et al., Case No. 2:17-cv-07320, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
AmeriSave Mortgage TCPA Class Action Settlement Payouts
AmeriSave Mortgage customers who were Class Members in a Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) class action lawsuit have reported receiving PayPal payments of $10.58.
Mortgage company AmeriSave agreed to pay $6.25 million to settle claims it violated the TCPA by placing unsolicited calls and text messages.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claimed the company used an automatic dialing system to place a large number of calls, which is prohibited by the TCPA.
The AmeriSave Mortgage TCPA Class Action Lawsuit was Terry Fabricant, et al. v. AmeriSave Mortgage Corp., Case No. 19-cv-04659-AB-AS, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Alarm.com Telemarketing Phone Calls Class Action Settlement Checks
A second round of checks has been sent out in the Alarm.com telemarketing calls class action settlement.
Class Members have reported to TCA that they have received payments of about $23.
The payouts are part of a $28 settlement that resolved allegations Alarm.com placed telemarketing calls to consumers’ cellphones without their prior consent, violating the TCPA.
The class action lawsuit estimated more than 1.2 million consumers were contacted this way.
