FTC rebates can be a great way to get extra cash.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced that it is issuing refunds in five consumer cases, according to press releases sent out in June.

Quantum Wellness Refunds

The FTC says that it is mailing full refunds totaling nearly $149,000 to 1,310 consumers who purchased ReJuvenation, a product that was deceptively marketed as a cure-all for numerous age-related ailments including cell damage, heart attack damage, brain damage, and deafness.

According to the FTC refunds alert, between May 2014 and February 2016, Maria Veloso advertised and sold ReJuvenation, a pill which contains amino acids and herbal extracts. The FTC claims that Veloso sold the product nationwide using direct mail, postcards, emails, and multiple websites.

Allegedly, Quantum Wellness and its CEO, Fred Auzenne took over the operation in 2016 and continued to market the product as a cure-all for anti-aging.

The FTC refunds press release states that the defendants are barred from making false and unsubstantiated health claims and are required to pay a total of $660,000 to the commission, which will be used to provide refunds to the defrauded customers.

According to the FTC refunds news release, the company bilked millions of dollars from consumers by falsely telling them that they could earn thousands of dollars per month by buying business coaching services and establishing an internet business.

The FTC notes that the first round of checks were mailed in October 2019, however, money still remains in the fund and the FTC is mailing an additional 6,489 checks totaling nearly $604,000 to those who cashed their first check.

The FTC asks that, if you get a check, please cash it within 60 days. In addition, consumers who have questions should contact Analytics Consulting at 1-844-982-1005.

According to the FTC refunds alert, the defendants, operating under the names Building Money, Prime Cash, Wyze Money, and Titan Income, defrauded consumers with fake online investment opportunities to people across the United States.

The first round of FTC refunds was mailed in March 2019, but since money still remains in the fund, the FTC says that it is mailing an additional 7,108 checks totaling more than $1.87 million to those consumers who cashed their first check.

Triangle Media Refunds

The FTC is also issuing checks totaling more than $8.7 million to 187,425 to consumers who signed up online for “risk free” trial offers, but were then charged full price and enrolled in continuity plans without their knowledge.

According to the FTC refunds press release, the company, Triangle Media Corporation, used trial offers to sell and market numerous products online, including skin creams, electronic cigarettes, and dietary supplements.

The FTC says that, using third-party websites, blog posts, and surveys, Triangle Media Corporation advertised trial products for just the cost of shipping and handling, but after a limited trial period, consumers were charged up to $98.71 for the products and enrolled in negative option plans without their consent.

The FTC also alleged that the company used deceptive order confirmation pages to trick consumers into ordering more products for the full price, enrolling them in additional negative option plans.

The FTC claims that consumers who did not cancel their Online Supplier membership before the end of the trial period were charged monthly fees up to $59.95.

The FTC says that the first round of checks was mailed in July 2019, but since money still remains in the fund, an additional 24,335 checks totaling more than $376,000 are being mailed to those who cashed their first check.
