Baller agreed to pay $1.9 million to resolve claims it violated California law by enrolling consumers in automatically renewing subscriptions without clearly presenting all the terms.
The BallerTV.com settlement benefits California residents who purchased a BallerTV.com subscription between Feb. 14, 2019, and June 6, 2023, and did not receive a full refund.
The class action lawsuit claims BallerTV enrolled consumers in automatically renewing subscriptions and posted charges to the consumer’s accounts without first presenting the consumer with all of the automatic renewal offer terms in a clear and conspicuous manner. These BallerTV auto renewal subscriptions allegedly violated California’s Automatic Renewal Law.
BallerTV.com is a subscription-based service that provides live streamed video of youth and collegiate athletic events.
BallerTV hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $1.9 million settlement to resolve the auto renewal class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the BallerTV.com settlement, class members can receive a pro rata cash payment based. Payment amounts will vary depending on the number of valid claims filed and the amount left in the net settlement fund after deductions for fees and expenses.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 8, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Dec. 6, 2024.
No claim form is required to receive BallerTV auto renewal settlement benefits. Class members who do not exclude themselves by the deadline will automatically receive payments.
