Plaintiffs allege Zoom violated both California and federal laws by sharing users’ information with third parties, failing to prevent unwanted meeting disruptions, and misrepresenting Zoom’s purported end-to-end encryption services.

In some cases, serious meetings involving religious participants and/or children were disrupted by “Zoom-bombing”, which involves showing graphic and disturbing imagery.

Open for Claims

Class Members who paid for a subscription can claim $25 or 15 percent of the money paid to Zoom for the subscription.

Anyone who used, opened, or downloaded the app without a paid subscription can claim $15.

Class Members who do not act won’t get a payment and they won’t be able to seek out a future claim.

Class Members who want to seek out a personal lawsuit regarding this matter must exclude themselves from the current Class by opting out with the settlement administrator by March 5, 2022.

Class Members who want to remain in the Class but object to the terms of the Settlement must file an objection with the Court by March 5, 2022.

Class Members who want to get their rightful payments must submit a timely claim.

The deadline to file a claim in the Zoom-bombing settlement is also March 5, 2022.
