Lawsuit Filed

Date Initiated: 10/07/2021

The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has agreed to let T-Mobile consolidate in the Western District of Missouri dozens of class action lawsuits lobbied against the company over an August data breach that exposed the data of millions of its customers.

The panel agreed with T-Mobile’s previous argument that the complaints should not be consolidated in Washington state due to a shortage of available judges.

In a transfer order filed on Dec. 3, the panel said the Western District of Missouri was a proper venue for litigation due to its central location and “capacity to efficiently manage” the case.

A total of 44 cases have now been consolidated into the state of Missouri — up from five at the time of the panel’s initial transfer order.
