An Olympic Rescue It! class action lawsuit investigation has been launched after customer allegations that the resurfacing product advertised as a “high performance coating” cracks and peels within just a few months after application.
Rescue It! Resurfacer is promoted by Olympic as having the ability to fill in cracks and provide a non-slip textured surface that is waterproof. However, consumers have complained that Rescue It! does not hold up to the elements, which can cause peeling within a matter of months.
Olympic guarantees that if customers properly prepare the surface according to the label directions and are still not satisfied, they will refund the price or replace the product with another Rescue It! Resurfacer.
However, some customers claim this action isn’t enough, as the resurfacer was supposed to save them time and now they are forced to do the project twice.
What is Olympic Rescue It! Resurfacer?
The Olympic resurfacing product is a combination of both paint and stain. The manufacturer claims the acrylic coating can fill concrete and wood cracks up to 1/4” deep.
The Olympic resurfacer is recommended for weathered wood and concrete. It can be applied to wood stairs, posts, railing and decks and also concrete sidewalks and patios. The manufacturer states: “Don’t replace it. Rescue it!”
The product contains detailed step-by-step instructions on how to prep the surface and how to apply the coating. Even the manufacturer admits that the prep work is a “time consuming” process.
Numerous Olympic Rescue It! customers claim that even after following all the directions and spending countless hours prepping and applying the stain, the product still failed to work as advertised.
Although the Rescue It! manufacturer doesn’t give an exact length of time the product is supposed to last, stating “the lifetime of the product may be limited by the condition of the wood or concrete that is being ‘rescued,’” some customers claim that the bubbling and peeling started to occur within a very short time.

If you used Olympic Rescue It! Resurfacer within the last few years on either a concrete patio or wood deck only to have it bubble, peel, or crack within months after applying the product, you may have legal claim.
