Students thank Top Class Actions for donating $5,000 to Amphi Foundation, a non-profit that helps families and children in need within Tucson, Arizona’s Amphitheatre Public School District.

Top Class Actions has donated $5,000 to the Amphi Foundation, a non-profit that provides support to the Amphitheatre Public School District in Tucson, Arizona, by assisting families and kids in need, and helping teachers purchase school supplies. Top Class Actions President Scott Hardy says giving back is one way in which his company stays true to its core values of Love, Trust, Integrity and Continuous Improvement.

Hardy attended the Amphitheatre School District for his high school years, so he felt a personal connection to the Amphi Foundation’s mission. He felt particularly inspired to contribute after a recent visit to old stomping grounds brought back memories. He notes much about the district felt familiar with “the same buildings, same campus, but new kids,” and he wants to ensure that the district could provide a quality education for generations of students to come.

Hardy says his excitement to donate to the Amphi Foundation was rooted in more than his connection to the Amphitheatre Public School District as an alum—he also resonated with their mission, which is to ensure that every student has what they need to reach their full potential as a student, by expanding resources that “enrich the education, development, and well-being” of students.

Children enjoy new Chromebooks donated by Amphi Foundation, which invests roughly $40,000 a year into technology for students.

As part of that mission, Amphi Foundation distributed 30,000 items of new and gently used clothing to Amphi students in need last year, invests roughly $40,000 a year into technology, and awards $15,000-20,000 per school year in Classroom Grants, which allows teachers to think outside the box and implement engaging learning opportunities for their students without having to pay out of pocket to make them happen. The Foundation also awards up to $10,000 in $250 “Start Up” Grants for the district’s newest teachers.

TCA’s Core Values in Action

Speaking from the heart, Hardy says giving back to the community, and making the world a better place, is “very, very important to me as a person, and important to my team.”

According to Hardy, the foundation mirrors Top Class Actions’ core values of Love, Trust, Integrity and Continuous Improvement.

The company president says he wasn’t alone in choosing the core values for Top Class Actions. Instead, the team as a whole chose the organization’s values, and Hardy is happy to support bringing these values to life.

In Hardy’s view, a commitment to education speaks to the spirit of the company’s core value of Continuous Improvement. In Hardy’s words, “This donation, and future donations, are all about making our world a better place for the future, and helping those in need now. The Amphi Foundation helps buy school supplies for teachers and we need to help those underfunded and overworked teachers get what they need so they can help educate our children.”

Amphi Foundation Executive Director Leah Noreng helps student put on new shoes that were donated through the foundation.

Hardy says that as a father to two girls, he is struck by the importance of making sure that students have what they need to succeed.

“My girls don’t have to worry about paying for school supplies, lunch or clothes for class. By making this donation to the Amphi Foundation, we’re helping kids and families in need, in my hometown of Tucson. We are sharing the Love that is another core value of our company.”

Leah Noreng, Executive Director at the Amphi Foundation, describes the importance of gifts like this one, saying that these contributions make a very real difference in the lives of students, teachers, and the district as a whole.

According to Noreng, “Gifts like this are so exciting and inspiring because they make what we do possible. In September 2019, we awarded just over $20,000 in classroom grant funding to 28 teachers in 16 of our schools—funding that has the potential to impact over 5,000 students this year and, in most cases, for many years to come. It is SO wonderful to be able to tell our teachers that the community values them and the work that they do AND ‘show them the money’ as well!”

As Noreng points out, Top Class Actions’ gift to the Amphi Foundation represents an investment in students’ future, and expresses an essential commitment to the exceptional work that teachers put in as educators.
